// The Manifesto

Urban art is ephemeral. Rain fades it, buffing erases it, time kills it. We make it permanent.

THE ORIGIN

Stickering.com wasn't born in a boardroom; it was born in a lab at the Faculty of Computer Science in Florence, Italy, back in 2007. Back then, we were experimenting with the early "Web 2.0" building a home for urban art using PHP 5 and a dream of a global archive. We saw stickers as more than just adhesive paper, we saw them as a raw, democratic layer of the cities' souls.

THE FAILURE OF SCALE

In the early days, we tried to scale. We tapped into the Twitter Firehose, scraping metadata to keep the archive alive. But the internet changed. APIs closed, data became a commodity, and manual moderation became an impossible bottleneck. The project went dark, but the stickers kept appearing on the walls.

THE RESURRECTION (2025)

Today, the mission is the same, but the tech has finally caught up. We've traded PHP5 for a modern stack: TanStack Start for the web app, Hono for the API, and a Telegram bot on a dedicated VPS for decentralized submissions. All orchestrated with Turborepo.

What couldn't scale in 2007 can scale now. We no longer need armies of human moderators to verify every slap. Our LLM-powered moderation understands the difference between street art and slop. It sees the artistic intent, the social commentary, and the geographic context in just a bunch of seconds.

WHY WE STILL HUNT

Street art is ephemeral. The rain fades it, the "buff" squads erase it, and time kills it. We are the digital morgue for the underground. We map the GPS coordinates of moments that aren't meant to last.
